Roses are red, violets are blue.
I got hooked on tattoos at 16, it’s all I wanted to do.
I’ve been tattooing since the 90’s, when arm bands were cool.
Please support Ace and Sword, I don’t want to go back to school.
Send me your art nouveau, and black and grey realism tattoos,
I’m not keen on colour, wolves or lions, they give me the blues.
Back then though—as with any apprenticeship at the time—I started at the bottom. It was far from glamorous, I spent my days doing the shop dirty work and cleaning tubes. But I didn’t mind, I was working towards something, gaining the experience I needed to do what I loved. While working at the shop, I spent my free time practicing on my guinea pigs—my friends.
I knew from a very early age that I wanted to tattoo—It was counter-culture and it was magical. I think what fascinated me the most was the fact that a tattoo is something you can never reverse. You can change your life, but a tattoo is forever.
My specialities and favourite styles include art nouveau, pseudo-realism, and dark horror. Bring on the monsters…
